About the Barn

A bakery cafe right in the middle of Geraldine

The Berry Barn sits in Four Peaks Plaza on Talbot Street, beside the Geraldine Cinema. Everything in the cabinet is baked on site early each morning, so by 7am the pies are hot and the coffee's on.

It's a regular for locals and a handy stop for anyone heading between Christchurch, Tekapo and Queenstown. Grab a table inside, sit out front, or take it for the road. Keep an eye out for the bees: there's a hive on site.

  • Baked on site every morning
  • Gluten-free options in the cabinet
  • Dine in, outdoor tables or takeaway

Drive 4 Hearts pulled in at the Barn

Drive 4 Hearts is New Zealand's oldest Land Rover on a mission. The 1948 Series I was the 20th Land Rover ever built and the first to arrive in New Zealand. It drove from Dunedin to Auckland raising money for Manaaki Manawa, the University of Auckland's Centre for Heart Research, to develop a heart valve that grows with children's hearts.

When it came through Geraldine it parked up right outside the Barn, with Land Rovers lined up across Four Peaks Plaza and the bunting out.

"A nice place for a comfort stop. For a coffee and a snack. The gluten free meat pie was unbelievably good. Better than back home. I give it a 10/10."

"Got my hot choco here! I was freezing from the cold weather while walking around Geraldine, so I decided to get some as takeaway. Turns out the place was actually really warm too!"
